Steps to follow when filing for unemployment compensation with FDEO

  • Firstly, you need to go to the FDEO website. To do this, you need to put your computing device on and then launch the browser application. Then you need to enter the address/URL for the FDEO website into your browser application. The address/URL we have just made reference to is provided in the ‘links’ section of this article. When you enter that address/URL into your browser application, you will be taken straight to the FDEO’s FloridaJobs website, which previously used to be known as FluidNow website.
  • When you get to the FDEO website, on the landing page, right at the top, you will see a main menu with items like ‘Home’, ‘About Us’, ‘News’, ‘Calendar’… and so on. The very last item on this menu is the ‘Office Directory’ link. Click on that ‘Office Directory’ link.
  • When you click on the ‘Office Directory’ link, you are taken to another screen, with information about the various divisions in the department. At the top of this screen, there is a menu with items like ‘Reemployment Assistance Service Center’, ‘Business Growth and Partnerships’, ‘Labor Market Information’… and so on. From this menu, roll your mouse over the first item – that is, the ‘Reemployment Assistance Service Center’ link.
  • When you roll your mouse over the ‘Reemployment Assistance Service Center’ link, a drop down menu box appears below. From within that box, click on the very first link, one that says ‘File an initial claim’.
  • When you click on the ‘File an Initial Claim’ link, you are taken to yet another screen, where you will find information about the filing process. Read through the information. Then click on the ‘CONNECTLogin’ button, in order to log into the system and proceed to make a filing. If you don’t have CONNECTLogin credentials, you will first have to go through the process of registering, before logging in and then proceeding to file for Florida unemployment insurance benefits.
